Following the announcement of 25% tariffs on automobiles and automotive components, by the President of the United States on Wednesday 2nd April, Dr Neil Shastri-Hurst, Member of Parliament for Solihull West & Shirley, met with Jaguar Land Rover (JLR). Neil had previously raised the concerns of his constituents and local employers in the House of Commons.
After meeting with JLR Dr Neil Shastri-Hurst MP said:
Today I held a constructive meeting with representatives of JLR following the introduction of tariffs on the UK automotive sector by the United States. This is a challenging time for our car manufacturers, and I am focussed on working collaboratively with both industry and the Government. I look forward to visiting the JLR plant in Solihull in the near future to continue this important dialogue.
