Dr Neil Shastri-Hurst, Member of Parliament for Solihull West & Shirley and a former trauma surgeon, has continued his campaign to enhance emergency preparedness across his constituency by delivering critical life-saving equipment to local venues.
As part of his ongoing commitment to public safety and resilience, Dr Shastri-Hurst and his team visited hospitality venues across Solihull Town Centre to distribute emergency Bleed Kits and ensure that existing kits remain up to date and operational. These kits are designed to provide immediate lifesaving aid in the event of catastrophic bleeding in the critical moments before emergency services arrive.
This latest step follows a charity walk undertaken by the MP earlier this year, where he raised over £3,000 to fund the purchase of two defibrillators and additional bleed kits for the community.
Commenting on the project, Dr Shastri-Hurst said:
Equipping our public spaces with life-saving equipment is an essential step in building a more resilient and prepared community. As someone with a background in trauma care, I know the difference vital rapid intervention can make in emergencies.
I am encouraged to see so many venues across Solihull Town Centre taking this responsibility seriously. This proactive approach can make all the difference when every second counts.
