Dr Neil Shastri-Hurst MP, Member of Parliament for Solihull West & Shirley, attended the 2026 Birmingham International Tattoo at bp pulse LIVE on Sunday 15 February 2026.
A former British Army officer, Dr Shastri-Hurst was delighted to witness the spectacular display of military precision, music, and pageantry. The event brought together more than 1,000 performers, including marching bands, pipes and drums, dance teams, field gun racing, and dog displays.
Dr Shastri-Hurst said:
“It was fantastic to see such skill and professionalism on display. As a veteran, it was a reminder of the dedication of our Armed Forces and the pride they inspire in our communities.”
The Tattoo also supports a number of charitable causes, with proceeds benefiting the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund, Shirley-based TroopAID, and Royal Star & Garter, one of whose homes is in Solihull. Dr Shastri-Hurst praised the event’s emphasis on giving back, noting that it reflects the strong bond between the military and local communities.
The Birmingham International Tattoo continues to be one of Britain’s premier indoor military events, drawing audiences from across the region to celebrate talent, tradition, and service.
