Dr Neil Shastri-Hurst, Member of Parliament for Solihull West & Shirley, visited Light Hall School in Shirley to mark GCSE Results Day and congratulate students on their achievements.
Speaking after the visit, Dr Shastri-Hurst said:
“Results Day is a significant moment in the lives of young people, marking years of hard work and dedication. I was delighted to join students at Light Hall School today and congratulate them on their achievements. They should all be immensely proud.
For those going on to further study, starting an apprenticeship, or stepping into the world of work, these results are the foundation for exciting opportunities ahead. And for anyone who may not have received the grades they were hoping for, I would stress that there are always different routes to success. Determination, creativity, and resilience often open doors just as surely as examination results.”
Dr Shastri-Hurst also paid tribute to the teachers, staff, and families who supported students throughout their studies:
“Behind every set of results are dedicated teachers, support staff, and family members who have given guidance and encouragement. I want to thank them for the vital role they play in shaping the future of our young people. In Solihull West & Shirley, we are fortunate to have such a strong and committed education community.”
