Dr Neil Shastri-Hurst, Member of Parliament for Solihull West and Shirley and former Medical Officer with the Royal Army Medical Corps, joined residents as he paid respects to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice, by attending Remembrance Services in Olton and St. Alphege.

Communities across Solihull West and Shirley stood together in two minutes of silent reflection as we remembered those who gave their tomorrow for our today.
Remembrance is a poignant time for our country, where we gather to pay our respects to our brave soldiers and servicemen and women, who put their lives on the line to protect our values and freedom.
It was touching to see the tributes across the constituency, with services also in Dickens Heath and Shirley. I have been taken back by the beautiful poppy canopies at both St Alphege in Solihull and St James’ in Shirley.
The Remembrance Services were well attended by our communities, and my thanks goes to the organisers, the Royal British Legion, and those who serve our country.
