Dr Neil Shastri-Hurst, Member of Parliament for Solihull West & Shirley, has thanked all who attended and supported his Pensioners’ Fair, which took place on Thursday 21st August at Solihull Indoor Bowls Club.
The Fair brought together a wide range of local organisations offering advice and support for older residents and their families. A strong turnout of local residents made for a lively and engaging event.
Speaking after the event, Dr Shastri-Hurst said:
“I was delighted to welcome residents to my first Pensioners’ Fair here in Solihull. It was wonderful to see so many people engaging with exhibitors, asking questions, and making new connections. Events like this show the value of bringing services together under one roof in a warm and welcoming setting.
I am incredibly grateful to all the exhibitors who gave their time to offer advice and support, to the sponsors whose generosity made the event possible, and to Solihull Indoor Bowls Club for so kindly hosting us.”
Exhibitors ranged from local care providers and charities to public services and community groups; offering guidance from health and wellbeing to housing and legal advice.
Dr Shastri-Hurst concluded:
“Above all, I am grateful to the residents who came along and took part. This Fair was about giving something back to those who have given so much to our community. I am encouraged by the positive feedback we received and look forward to building on this success with further fairs to support all parts of our community.”
