On Sunday 21st September 2025, Dr Neil Shastri-Hurst, Member of Parliament for Solihull West & Shirley, attended a fundraiser at the Solihull Arden Club in support of the Blood Fridge Friends Group (BFFG).
The event brought together local residents, volunteers, and supporters to raise vital funds for the new cancer day unit at Heartlands Hospital.
Dr Shastri-Hurst said:
“It was a privilege to join the Blood Fridge Friends Group and so many members of our community at the Solihull Arden Club. The hard work and dedication shown by the organisers and volunteers were inspiring. This was community spirit at its very best, with people coming together to support a cause that will make a real difference to patients and families across our area. I would like to thank everyone involved for their generosity and commitment.”
The Blood Fridge Friends Group continues its fundraising efforts to raise £30,000 by December to fund vital equipment for Heartlands’ new cancer day unit.
