On Saturday 25th May, Dr. Neil Shastri-Hurst, Member of Parliament for Solihull West & Shirley, attended the Shirley Lions’ Annual Charity Plant Sale, an event raising vital funds to support local prostate cancer testing initiatives.
The sale brought residents together in support of a cause that affects thousands of men across the UK each year. Proceeds from the event will directly fund free prostate cancer testing for local residents.
Following the event, Dr. Shastri-Hurst said:
It was a real pleasure to join the Shirley Lions and local residents at the Plant Sale. This event exemplifies the strength of community spirit in Solihull West & Shirley and the impact of grassroots fundraising on public health. Every pound raised is a step toward earlier detection and improved outcomes in prostate cancer care.
The Shirley Lions make a remarkable contribution through their tireless, year-round efforts. I am immensely grateful for their dedication, and I will continue to support initiatives that champion the wellbeing of our community.
