Solihull West & Shirley MP, Dr Neil Shastri-Hurst, recently visited the Solihull Town Centre Low Carbon Energy Network to see how the project will deliver cleaner, reliable, and more resilient energy for the town.
During the visit, Dr Shastri-Hurst met with project partners and learned how the new energy centre at Tudor Grange Park will provide low-carbon heat, hot water, and electricity to buildings across Solihull town centre through a network of underground pipework.
The system uses technologies including air source heat pumps, water source heat pumps and combined heat and power generation to deliver reliable, lower-carbon energy.
The project has also supported the local economy, with more than £3.2 million spent with local suppliers and contractors.
Commenting on his visit, Neil said:
“It was fascinating to see the progress being made on Solihull’s low carbon energy network. Projects like this show how investment in modern infrastructure can strengthen our energy resilience and support local jobs."
