Dr Neil Shastri-Hurst, Member of Parliament for Solihull West & Shirley, continued his support for the local hospitality sector by visiting the recently refurbished Bulls Head in Earlswood, Solihull.
The Bulls Head has reopened following a £600,000 refurbishment by hospitality group Thwaites. The renovation has transformed both the interior and exterior, introducing The Barn at The Bull’s Head, a new outdoor space featuring an alfresco bar, cosy seating areas, a fire pit, and family-friendly activities. Inside, the pub now boasts a stylish new bar, a dedicated private dining area, and a revamped restaurant, offering a welcoming space for everything from casual drinks to special celebrations.
With a refreshed menu focused on fresh, local ingredients and new features like a buffet option and trendy donut wall, The Bull’s Head is expanding its appeal for events, such as weddings for up to 120 guests. The renovation has created five new local jobs, bringing the team to 40, and marks a key milestone in Thwaites’ long-term investment in the venue.
Dr Neil Shastri-Hurst MP said:
It was fantastic to visit the Bulls Head in Earlswood to meet the team and take a look at the new and impressive refurbishment. This significant investment of £600,0000 by Thwaites highlights their confidence in Solihull’s economy, I am also delighted that an additional five new jobs have been created.
Recently in the constituency, I launched my ‘Best Local Pub 2025’ competition to champion our brilliant hospitality sector. In Parliament, I’ve been meeting with local business owners and workers from the industry to hear directly about the challenges they’re facing. A key part of those conversations has been my ongoing campaign against the Government’s poorly considered proposals—particularly the Employment Rights Bill and the planned increases to National Insurance Contributions, both of which risk placing even greater strain on an already struggling sector.
Lucy Burrows, General Manager at The Bulls Head pub, said:
A huge thank you to everyone for all the support over the last few years – it really means a lot to us. The Bulls Head truly is a community pub and the response we’ve had from the refurbishment has been incredible. It’s shaping up to be our best summer yet, and we can’t wait to see you all soon!
