Dr Neil Shastri-Hurst, Member of Parliament for Solihull West & Shirley, joined residents and visitors on Saturday at the bustling Vintage & Craft Fair held at the historic Olton Friary.
Organised by Lolly’s Events, the fair showcased an impressive array of handmade goods, vintage treasures, and artisan creations from local makers across the region. Families enjoyed a vibrant community atmosphere filled with unique stalls, live demonstrations, and traditional refreshments – including freshly baked cakes and classic cream teas.
Speaking after the event, Dr Shastri-Hurst said:
It was a real pleasure to visit the Olton Friary today and be part of such a vibrant community event. The quality of craftsmanship on display was exceptional, and it was inspiring to see so many local creators showcasing their talent. Events like this speak to the best of British enterprise - creative, hard-working, and deeply rooted in the community. I’m proud to support our small businesses and celebrate the local talent that makes Solihull West & Shirley such a dynamic place to live and work.
The event drew a strong turnout and continues to be a beloved fixture in the local calendar, providing a valuable platform for independent traders and a warm, welcoming space for neighbours to connect.
