As a veteran himself, Dr Neil Shastri-Hurst MP is deeply committed to standing up for our veterans and their families. He understands the sacrifices made by those who have served, and is determined to ensure they receive the care, respect, and opportunities they deserve.
From mental health support to access to housing and employment, Neil is working both in Parliament and here in Solihull West & Shirley to make a meaningful difference for our Armed Forces community.
What Neil Is Doing:
- Championing Veterans in Parliament
Neil regularly speaks up for veterans in Westminster - pushing for improvements in healthcare, mental health services, and support with the transition to civilian life. - Defending the Armed Forces Covenant
Neil is a strong advocate for the Armed Forces Covenant, which ensures that no veteran or their family is disadvantaged when accessing public services like housing, education, or healthcare. - Fighting for Local Support
In Solihull West & Shirley, Neil is engaging with local authorities, charities, and community organisations to strengthen support networks for veterans and ensure they can access the help they need. - Bringing Experience to Policy
Drawing on his background in both medicine and military service, Neil brings a practical, compassionate voice to national discussions on veterans' welfare and reform.
